POSITIVE IMPACT
The cotton in this piece was mindfully sourced from members of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), a global organization dedicated to sustainable cotton growing and protecting cotton-growing communities and the environment.
Our commitment to having a high impact on people and a low impact on the planet is ongoing. We know that most of the impact on the planet happens when the clothing is being made, so we have our Goods Mandate in place, helping us make the best planet-conscious decisions when it comes to our materials. While we are committed to 70% of our materials coming from the Best/Better categories, we haven’t hit the mark yet. One of the biggest challenges for smaller brands is getting access to the right materials while meeting minimum order quantities. Ordering more than we need to meet these minimums just creates waste and that’s not a tradeoff we are willing to make. But we are growing with real demand and are being creative about franchise fabrics. We aren’t perfect but we are headed in the right direction. Not only is climate conscious innovation part of this team effort, 3% of profit, after product costs, goes to the Why Not You Foundation, a non-profit empowering today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.
